Michael Moore's New Movie - Sicko opened today.

Recent events in my life have made this movie a must see. Watching someone get less than humane treatment and not be able to do anything is a very humbling experience at best. If you are reading this and thinking to yourself, "I'm to young to worry about this", unless you were hatched from an egg, you have parents and possibly Grand Parents that might have to face a hospital stay at some point in their lives. Pay attention, we all need to pay attention.

Drivers that know they are the only one on the road.

OK, so I did not see that the king was wanting to move out of the driveway of the business that traffic was stopped in front of! Two lanes of traffic are stopped because the bridge was up! Where do you think your going to go? Granted, your truck places you almost as high or maybe sitting higher than a bus driver and you have a different perspective from up there. Yelling at me in your indignant tone of voice to move so that you can move your truck does not solve the issue. It just shows all of us who you really are.

The Pope has made it official, we need to be better drivers, or at least a little more caring of our fellow drivers.

In my recent posts I have been talking about the things that I see other drivers do. Today the Pope made it official by issuing the Ten Commandements of Driving. I'm happy that the Vatican is interested in helping out with the drivers on the road. What I'm not totally in agreement with is the "praying while driving". Anything that is removing ones attention from the road has the potential to cause an accident. How about before and after driving prayers? Just a thought.
 

On losing one's marbles.

I was having a discussion with a friend the other day. She complained to me that someone was telling her that she was losing her "marbles".

My response to her was, "You still have all of your marbles, they just sometimes roll a little more slowly sometimes".

Motorcycles and lane splitting.

Ok, I know that being in motion is the best place for a motorcycle rider to be. I also know that bike riders always complain that those of us in cars never give them their part of the road. This morning the bike rider on my left that moved in front of my car with no signal, just listed there almost ran into the front bumper of my car with said bike's rear tire! I can hear it now, "she didn't give me my part of the lane!" Oh please!

It takes all of us together to make it safe on the road. Do your part, I'll do mine.

Pets and the morning commute.

The other morning I was behind a driver that I knew was having a problem, I just could not tell what. I would get close to being able to pass and the driver would slow down and I was blocked on both sides. This went on for about 3 miles. I finally got around the car and saw what the problem was. She had her little dog on her arm and was blowing kisses to her pet. Aw, how cute! DO IT AT HOME!!!! What you are thinking!?!? Oh, that really is what the issue is, she is not thinking.

Then she gets upset with me when I lightly honk my horn to get her to look up and not down at said pet. Hey, we are out here doing something that is potentially life threatening! You are sitting in something that could kill both of us. PAY ATTENTION to the road!

Save your life and your pet's, leave them at home or use a pet carrier, that's what they are for.
